TRISTAR Celebrates Tammy Boyd’s Appointment as President of Kids’ Chance of Florida

TRISTAR proudly announces that Tammy Boyd, our Regional Business Development and Client Services Director, has been appointed as the next President of Kids’ Chance of Florida, effective in 2026. Tammy’s appointment acknowledges her years of dedication to the organization and demonstrates TRISTAR’s commitment to helping families impacted by workplace tragedies.

Tammy’s involvement started in 2017 when she volunteered as an ambassador, eager to help children who had lost a parent or had a parent seriously injured on the job. In 2023, she joined the Board as Treasurer, and now she will lead the organization as President for a two-year term beginning in 2026.

“My passion for Kids’ Chance of Florida comes from my own life experiences. I grew up in a broken home, and from an early age I understood what it meant to face instability and uncertainty. When I was in high school, my world was shattered by the sudden loss of my brother in a car accident, followed not long after by the passing of my mother. Those tragedies changed me forever. I know what it feels like to have your future clouded by loss and to wonder how you’ll find stability again.

That’s why the mission of Kids’ Chance of Florida is so close to my heart. I see myself in the children we serve—their struggles, their resilience, and their hope for a brighter tomorrow. As the incoming President, my commitment is to make sure every child who faces the devastating loss of a parent due to a workplace tragedy knows they are not alone, that they have support, and that their future is still full of possibilities. For me, this isn’t just leadership—it’s a calling, and a way to honor my own journey by helping others find hope and opportunity in the face of hardship.”

Kids’ Chance of Florida, founded in 2015, is gearing up to celebrate ‘A Decade of Impact’ in 2025. The organization will award 20 scholarships totaling $78,000 in the 2025–2026 academic year, the highest number given in a single year. Since its inception, it has granted 105 scholarships totaling $453,000, with an average of $4,000 per student. These scholarships symbolize opportunity, stability, and hope for children facing hardship.

Tammy’s vision involves increasing volunteer participation through established committees that align skills with needs, creating a greater impact.

The organization’s fundraising success is impressive. Its 5th Annual Golf Tournament has sold out for five consecutive years, with 21 sponsors and a 70% golfer return rate. In 2025, it raised $87,000, the highest in the tournament’s history, directly supporting scholarships.

TRISTAR is also proud to support Kids’ Chance at the national level. Recently, TRISTAR committed $100,000 over four years to Kids’ Chance of America. This pledge reinforces our values of compassion and making a difference within the community. It also strengthens the national network and increases support for state chapters like Florida.

Together, Tammy’s leadership and TRISTAR’s nationwide partnership form a powerful force for advancing Kids’ Chance’s mission. Join us in celebrating Tammy's incredible achievement and her appointment as President of Kids’ Chance of Florida.
